Adults-Only All-Inclusives from Halifax: 8 Resorts on a Direct Winter Flight
If your idea of a winter escape involves a quiet pool, a late dinner and no cannonballs, an adults-only all-inclusive is the way to go. The good news for Atlantic Canadians: you can reach plenty of them on a non-stop flight from Halifax this winter.
Every resort in this guide meets two tests. First, its official website says it’s adults-only (or, for Sandals, adults-only and designed for couples). Second, it’s near an airport with a non-stop winter 2026–27 flight from Halifax Stanfield. We don’t publish ratings or prices, because both change constantly; check them live before you book.

Cancún, Mexico
Cancún is the easiest adults-only escape from Halifax: four airlines fly direct, with the first flights from late October. Browse Cancún all-inclusive resorts on Trip.com.
Excellence Playa Mujeres
Excellence Playa Mujeres is adults-only (18+) and sits in Playa Mujeres, north of Cancún. The resort says it’s all suites, with 12 restaurants and an upgraded Excellence Club tier.
- Good for: couples who want a quieter setting away from the Hotel Zone, with lots of dining choice.
- Think about: you’re outside central Cancún, so nights out in town take a ride.
Breathless Cancun Soul
Breathless Cancun Soul is Hyatt’s adults-only, more social option. Hyatt says Breathless resorts are aimed at “singles, couples and friends”, and this one has 429 suites, two rooftop infinity pools and DJ sets by its xcelerate pool. It is about 25 minutes from the airport and two miles from the Cancún strip.
- Good for: friends’ trips and couples who want energy, music and a city feel.
- Think about: if you want peace and quiet, this isn’t it.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Three airlines fly Halifax–Punta Cana non-stop, starting with Air Canada on October 25. Both picks here are on Juanillo Beach in Cap Cana. Compare Punta Cana stays on Trip.com.
Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana
Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is adults-only (18+) and all-inclusive only, and Hyatt’s FAQ says tips are included.
- Good for: couples who want adults-only with a short airport transfer (the neighbouring Hyatt Ziva is about 15 minutes from Punta Cana airport, per Hyatt).
- Think about: 18+ guests from the family-friendly Ziva next door can use the Zilara, so you may see a few more people than at a stand-alone resort.
Secrets Cap Cana
Secrets Cap Cana is an adults-only resort aimed at couples, with 457 suites on Juanillo Beach. Hyatt says Secrets resorts are adults-only, reservations aren’t required at its restaurants, and tips and taxes are included.
- Good for: a romantic, more upscale stay.
- Think about: it’s a big resort; if you want small and intimate, look elsewhere.
Jamaica
All Jamaica non-stops from Halifax go to Montego Bay, once a week per airline: Air Canada on Thursdays (from Dec 3), Air Transat on Sundays (from Dec 20) and WestJet on Mondays (from Feb 8). After Hurricane Melissa, Hyatt delayed seven Montego Bay and Rose Hall resorts, including its Secrets and Breathless properties there, to Q1 2027 at the earliest (Caribbean Journal), so we’ve left them out. Compare Montego Bay stays on Trip.com.
Sandals Montego Bay
Sandals Montego Bay says it reopens on December 18, 2026. It’s adults-only for couples, with nine restaurants, six bars and round-trip airport transfers included, and it’s close to Montego Bay airport.
- Good for: the shortest transfer in Jamaica.
- Think about: it’s newly reopening, so choose flexible booking terms in case dates shift.
Sandals Negril
Sandals Negril is on Negril’s Seven Mile Beach. Sandals says it’s adults-only and designed for couples, with 8 restaurants, 5 bars, scuba diving for certified divers and round-trip transfers included.
- Good for: a classic Jamaican beach and sunsets.
- Think about: Sandals puts the drive from Montego Bay airport at 72.7 km (45.2 miles), so allow time on arrival day.
Barbados and the Bahamas
Sandals Royal Barbados
Sandals Royal Barbados is in St. Lawrence Gap, about 15 minutes (12 km) from the airport, per Sandals. It’s adults-only for couples, with 21 restaurants, 14 bars and transfers included. Air Canada flies Halifax–Bridgetown on Thursdays from December 17, 2026, a route PAX News reports is the first direct service connecting Barbados with Atlantic Canada.
- Good for: lots of dining choice, and somewhere new.
- Think about: one flight a week fixes your trip length.
Sandals Royal Bahamian
Sandals Royal Bahamian is in Nassau, 7.4 km from the airport. Sandals says it’s adults-only for couples, with a private offshore island, 10 restaurants, 8 bars and transfers included. Air Canada flies Halifax–Nassau on Fridays, December 18 to April 2.
- Good for: the private island and a short transfer.
- Think about: the Government of Canada advises a high degree of caution in the Bahamas, especially Nassau and Freeport (travel.gc.ca).
Adults-only (18+) vs couples-only: what is the difference?
“Adults-only” usually means a minimum age, and the resorts above that state one set it at 18. Sandals goes a step further: its resorts are adults-only and designed for couples. If you’re travelling with a friend or on your own, check the resort’s policy before you book; Breathless, by contrast, specifically welcomes singles and friends.
How to choose
- Shortest wait for a flight: Cancún or Punta Cana, with three or four airlines.
- Included transfers: all four Sandals resorts include round-trip airport transfers.
- Tips included: Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana and Secrets Cap Cana say tips are included; Sandals lists taxes and gratuities as included at Sandals Negril.
- Somewhere new: Barbados, on this winter’s new route.
- A social scene: Breathless Cancun Soul.
